Cambria College is pleased to be part of a fully funded Medical Laboratory Assistant training opportunity in Surrey, BC. Funded through the Canada-BC Workforce Development Agreement, Self Rise Training Society is offering this program through the Community Workforce Response Grant.

The program provides students with the knowledge and practical skills needed to pursue employment in medical laboratories and other healthcare settings.

What You’ll Learn

Medical Laboratory Assistant training includes:

  • Phlebotomy
  • Specimen collection and handling
  • Laboratory procedures and safety
  • Medical terminology
  • ECG procedures
  • Work experience

Cambria College’s Medical Laboratory Assistant program is approved by the British Columbia Society of Laboratory Sciences (BCSLS). Upon successful completion of the program, graduates may apply for BCSLS certification

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this fully funded training opportunity, participants must:

  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or protected person entitled to work in Canada
  • Reside in British Columbia
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN)
  • Be a high school graduate or equivalent, or qualify as a mature student by being 19 years of age or older before starting the program

Program End Date: July 9, 2027

Location: Surrey, BC

Funding: Fully funded through the Canada-BC Workforce Development Agreement and Community Workforce Response Grant
